Sophisticated dining room! |
| I love this room. The combination of the pale, warm cream with the duck-egg blue fabrics gives a very calm, peaceful feeling. The challenge was to make it feel sophisticated, but not too dark, because the natural light wasn't great. Think we got the balance just right! | |||

The use of blues and yellows made this room bright, colourful and airy, as well as a lot of fun! |

This project involved redecorating a young boy's bedroom on a "pirate island" theme. Walls were painted blue and yellow (sea and sand), with a pirate-themed border dividing the two. A hand-painted image from the border was added as a feature on one wall (right). Skirting boards and architrave were replaced and glossed. Flat-pack bed was assembled and blind put up on the window. |

Transform my dark, cluttered bedroom into a light, airy one! This ended up being more than just a decorating project, but I really enjoyed the transformation I was able to make for this room. |
|
This room felt dark and old fashioned, due to a combination of bad natural light, poor lighting, bad choice of colour scheme, bad choice of
window dressing, etc. I replaced the curtains and nets with a modern blind, replaced the dusky pink carpet with some clean beech laminate flooring, stripped all the paper and re-papered the walls (the plaster was in poor condition). The new paper was then painted with Dulux "Light & Space" paint, which I am sure helped give a more open, brighter feel to the room. |
The single ceiling light was replaced with a chandelier-style light that provided a lot more light. The built-in wardrobe was completely ripped out and replaced with a new one, built from scratch, which featured sliding mirrored doors. These worked really well as they save space, but also help bounce light around the room, adding to the lighter, airier feeling. | |||

I love doing kids' bedrooms - they can be so much fun! |
| Everyone I describe this room to reacts in disbelief when I say it was pink and green. But here's proof that contrasting colours can work really well together to create a vibrant feeling. This was a "top to toe" project, including all the painting, new coving, removing the skirting, laying the laminate flooring, replacing and painting the skirting, removing some old fitted wardrobes and making good, while repainting the doors on some others to tie in with the colour scheme. | |||
